Before the days of lockdown, I had a super long commute. With 2 hours of driving time a day, I discovered a love of podcasts. It helped me change what was once a boring journey, into an educational and often hilarious one.

Right now, with many of us are working from home, I’ve found they have been providing the much-needed chatter I miss from working in an office. With no hourly news breaks, they are also a handy distraction from current events.

I’ve rounded up my favourite running-related podcasts. Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner or you’re lacking motivation for that Sunday jog, these podcasts will have you reaching for your trainers in no time.

Runpod

One of my favourites for listening to on-the-run. It feels like you’re on a chatty run with friends.

Jenni Falconer interviews a selection of celebs who also love nothing more than pulling on their trainers and pounding the pavement. It is jam-packed with top training tips and inspirational stories. If you’re currently missing human company on your run – give it a listen!

Well Far: The Running Podcast

The weekly running podcast helping you to go the distance. Hosted by Amy Lane (Digital Editor, Women’s Health Magazine), it is the perfect accompaniment to Spring marathon training.

The podcast covers everything from tracking your runs to current running news and expert interviews. Whether you’re doing Couch to 5K, or are a seasoned runner, there is something for everyone. I listened to this last year alongside marathon training and found it really informative.

Not another runner

Natalie Hawkins chats all things running, training and health-related to help keep you motivated on your running journey.

Natalie interviews a special guest in each episode. After listening to their stories and how they got into running, you’ll soon be inspired to put on your trainers and get moving!
