Viral luxury activewear brand Alo Yoga opens new store in Leeds’ Victoria Quarter

If you’ve spent any time on wellness Instagram over the last few years, chances are you’ll already know Alo Yoga. The LA born activewear brand has quietly become one of those labels everyone seems to own, from Pilates lovers to runners to celebrities doing coffee runs in head to toe neutrals.

And now, finally, Alo has landed in Leeds.

That’s right, Alo Yoga has officially opened its doors in the Victoria Quarter, bringing a little slice of Californian wellness culture right into the heart of the city.

So, what is Alo Yoga?

Founded in Los Angeles back in 2007, Alo (which stands for Air, Land and Ocean) has grown from a yoga focused brand into a full blown lifestyle name. It’s known for elevated performance pieces that feel just as good in the studio as they do worn out and about. This probably explains why it’s become such a favourite among celebs and wellness fans.

The brand talks a lot about mindful movement and modern living, and that really does run through everything they do. Alo isn’t just about the clothes, it’s about the lifestyle around them. They even describe their stores as sanctuaries, which makes a lot of sense once you step inside.

With several stores already open in London, and a Manchester opening announced earlier this year, the Leeds store marks Alo’s second location outside the capital.

The Leeds store

Set within the beautiful Victoria Quarter, the new Alo store feels calm, considered and very on brand. Think clean lines, soft lighting and racks of beautifully curated pieces that make you want to rebuild your entire activewear wardrobe.

Whether you’re into yoga, Pilates, running or just love good quality athleisure you can wear all day, there’s plenty to browse. It’s the kind of store you actually want to take your time in, rather than rushing in and out.

A weekend of wellness to celebrate

To mark the Leeds opening, Alo put together a full weekend of elevated wellness events across the city, which felt like such a nice way to introduce the brand locally.

The schedule included sessions at HiiCLUB and elethea studios, plus a run club on Saturday morning, all designed to bring people together and celebrate movement in different forms.

I was lucky enough to attend an Alo reformer Pilates class at elethea studios, and it was exactly what I needed to shake off the January blues. Holly was fantastic, guiding us through a challenging but manageable class. My legs are definitely feeling it today.

Saturday run club and store visit

On Saturday morning I joined the Alo run club for a 5K around the city. It was such a great atmosphere and very much about enjoying the run rather than chasing a pace.

Afterwards, we headed back to the store for a proper look around, which felt like the perfect way to round off the weekend. Seeing the space buzzing with people, post run, chatting and browsing made it clear that Alo isn’t just opening a shop in Leeds, it’s building a community.

Why Leeds will love Alo

Leeds has such a strong fitness and wellness scene, so Alo Yoga opening here feels like a really natural fit. Between the beautiful store, the thoughtful opening events and the focus on movement and wellbeing, it’s a great addition to the city.

Whether you’re deep into Pilates, or just love stylish, comfortable activewear, the new Alo Yoga store in Leeds is definitely worth a visit.

Just maybe don’t book a reformer class the evening before a long run! My quads need a little recovery time!

You can find the new Alo store at 23-29 Queen Victoria St, Leeds LS1 6BD
