I’ve only recently started wearing shorts, which might not sound like a big deal, but for me, it’s huge. After more than 40 years of avoiding getting my legs out, I’ve finally learned to love them a little more. Summer helped, of course, with those warm, sunny runs where leggings were just too much.
Now that we’re heading back into colder weather, it’s time to swap the shorts for something with a little more coverage. At 5ft 4, finding leggings that actually fit properly has always been a bit of a challenge. Most pairs end up bunching around my ankles, which is annoying. That’s why I’ve become a huge fan of 7/8 leggings. They’re the perfect length for petite runners like me, giving that just-right fit without the saggy fabric.
A New Sweaty Betty Outlet – Dangerous!
When a brand-new Sweaty Betty outlet store opened near me, I couldn’t resist popping in for a look. You know how it goes – you tell yourself you’re just browsing, and then somehow you’re walking to the till with two pairs of leggings in your arms!
I picked up a pair of the bestselling Sweaty Betty Power Leggings and the Zero Gravity Running Tights. So many people rave about them, and after testing them out on a few runs, I can totally see why.
Sweaty Betty Power Leggings Review
Let’s start with the Power Leggings. Honestly, these are some of the best workout leggings I’ve ever owned. The first thing you notice is the fabric – it’s thick, supportive, and feels premium. They’re designed for all types of workouts, from strength training to long runs, and they stay put no matter how much you move.
They’ve got a side pocket big enough for your phone and a zip pocket at the back for your keys or card. The waistband has an internal drawcord, so you can adjust the fit exactly how you like it. The sweat-wicking and quick-drying fabric keeps you cool and comfortable, even on those tough sessions.
What I love most is how flattering they are. The supportive fabric gives that held-in feeling without being restrictive, and they don’t go see-through when you bend or stretch. They’re also perfect for Pilates or yoga, so I know I’ll get plenty of wear out of them beyond running. A solid 9/10 from me.

Zero Gravity Leggings
Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Leggings Review
Next up, the Zero Gravity Running Tights 7/8. These were my favourite out of the two pairs. They’re not as thick as the Power Leggings, but ultra-lightweight and designed for speed. They’re made from an Italian quick-drying fabric that’s perfect for sweaty runs, and the fit is super sleek.
They have two side pockets, big enough to fit an iPhone plus a zip pocket at the back, which I love . The high waistband and adjustable drawcord keep everything secure.
They also offer compression support and UV protection so you can run confidently knowing you’re covered and supported. They were voted Best Leggings by the Women’s Running Awards, and I can absolutely see why.
