If you’re anything like me, you probably have days where the fridge is bare, your brain can’t handle another “what’s for dinner” decision, and Deliveroo feels just that bit too guilty. Enter Stocked, the flexible freezer food brand that was recently featured on Dragons’ Den. Their clever idea? Handy little Blocks of delicious meals you can stash away in your freezer, ready to transform into a proper dinner in minutes.
Sounds too good to be true? I tried them out, so here’s my honest Stocked review.
What is Stocked?
Stocked is on a mission to help busy foodies eat well without faff. Their meals come in frozen Blocks (think cubes of saucy, flavour-packed goodness) that you can portion out however you like. Each Block equals around 80g, so you can mix and match depending on your appetite.
Hungry? Grab four. Just need a quick lunch? Two will do. The best bit? You’re in control, so there’s no waste, no giant tubs of leftovers staring at you from the fridge, and no guilt if you only fancy a small portion.
How it Works
- Choose your meals: Stocked has a menu of 20+ dishes to pick from.
- Freeze them: They arrive frozen, ready to stack neatly in your freezer.
- Cook them up: Drop your chosen Blocks in a pan or microwave and in minutes you’ve got dinner.
Cook on the hob: Pop your Block in a saucepan with a tablespoon of water, cover with a lid, and simmer over medium heat. One Block takes about 6 minutes, with an extra minute for each additional Block. Give it a stir every now and then.
Cook in the microwave: Place your Block in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on full power for 1 minute per Block, stirring halfway through. Let it rest for a minute before digging in. (Tested in a 900W microwave, so times might vary.)
Make sure your food is piping hot before eating. Once heated, don’t refreeze, and keep everything frozen until you’re ready to enjoy.
You can serve them however you like – rice, wraps, pasta, or even stuffed into a jacket potato. There are also loads of creative recipe ideas on their website, so you can get even more inspiration for turning these Blocks into your perfect meal.

What I Tried
To give Stocked a proper test, I went for their most popular bundle, which included:
- Curried Chickpeas: comforting, warming, and absolutely packed with flavour. This was one of my favourites, especially with a homemade flatbread on the side.
- Chicken Tinga: smoky, spicy, and perfect in on a Jacket potato.
- Beef Chilli: hearty, rich and brilliant spooned over rice. I also tried it with nachos for a treat, and it worked so well.
Each one genuinely tasted homemade, not like the usual watery ready meals you shove in the microwave. I loved how quick they were, especially after a run when I wanted real food but didn’t fancy cooking from scratch.
Honestly, they really came in handy recently – I had them stocked in the freezer during a week when I was housebound, and it was such a relief to have quick, tasty meals waiting for me.

Taste Test: Do Stocked Blocks Actually Taste Good?
Yes. Honestly, this was my biggest surprise. I was so impressed, I usually cook everything from scratch, so I went in expecting a mediocre freezer meal, but these genuinely held their own. Each dish has layers of flavour and texture that feel home-cooked. You can tell the meals have been made with proper ingredients rather than bulked out with fillers. The spices in the Chicken Tinga really came through, the chickpeas stayed nice and firm rather than mushy, and the Beef Chilli was rich and comforting.
I also loved how versatile they were – you can jazz them up with a bit of extra veg, serve them with rice, pasta, or wraps, or even turn leftovers into something completely new. For someone with a busy lifestyle, or just a craving for tasty food without the effort, these Blocks really hit the spot.
Why Stocked Works
- Portion control – no more guessing, just grab the number of Blocks you fancy.
- Zero waste – because you only cook what you need, there’s no throwing away half a portion or leaving tubs of leftovers to die in the fridge. It feels better for your wallet, but also for the planet. No one likes wasting food, and Stocked makes it simple to avoid.
- Big variety – with over 20 dishes to choose from, it’s hard to get bored.
- Freezer-friendly – they stack neatly, so you don’t need to play Tetris every time you open the freezer. Compared to huge bulky ready meals, they’re a dream. You can actually see what else is in your freezer, and the neat packaging makes it easy to grab what you want.
- Packaging & Sustainability One thing I really liked about Stocked is how easy the Blocks are to store. They arrive neatly packed and don’t take up half your freezer like some bulky meal kits do. The sleeves are recyclable at supermarkets.

Stocked vs Other Meal Delivery Services
I’ve tried a fair few meal delivery services before – think Gousto, HelloFresh, Mindful Chef and Stocked is definitely different.
- Stocked: Feels like the best of both worlds. Tasty, ready-to-go meals, but with the flexibility to eat as much or as little as you like, and no wasted portions.
- HelloFresh/Gousto: You still have to chop, cook, and wash up a lot. Which is fine when you’ve got time, but not so great on busy evenings.
- Mindful Chef/Allplants: These come pre-made, but you don’t get the flexibility with portion sizes. You’re stuck with what’s in the container.
Is Stocked Worth It?
For me, yes. If you’re busy, into fitness, or just fed up with soggy supermarket ready meals, Stocked is a game-changer. The flavours are on point, the portion flexibility is genius, and the convenience is unbeatable.
It’s not about replacing cooking altogether, but more about having a freezer back-up plan that keeps you eating well without the stress. Would I order again? Yes, as they are handy to keep in a small freezer.
Stocked Review: Quick Verdict
- Taste: 9/10 – I was really impressed
- Convenience: 10/10 – Tasty meals in minutes!
- Value for money: 7/10 – One-off orders work out at around £3.32 per meal, though you’ll need to add your own rice, pasta, or other accompaniments. Considering the flexibility, lack of waste, and proper flavour, I think it’s worth it, especially if you factor in what you’d spend on a takeaway.
- Overall: If you want flexible freezer meals that taste homemade, Stocked is worth every Block.
