Last weekend, I popped down to Go Outdoors in York for the launch of the KUDOS RUN. With Triathlete Jonny Brownlee and TV personality Helen Skelton, we led around 300 runners on a run starting from the store at Vangarde Shopping Park!
What’s the KUDOS RUN?
KUDOS RUN is part of Go Outdoors’ brand-new running department, now open in York. It’s a runners paradise, offering premium gear from top brands like Adidas, ASICS, Garmin, Merrell, New Balance, and Salomon. From high-tech wearables to top-quality trainers, this new space has everything you need to up your running game.
The Event: Run, Refuel, and Recharge
The KUDOS RUN gave participants the choice between a 5K or a mile run, catering to all abilities. After the run, everyone mingled over coffee and pastries—whilst hastily trying to enter the popular Snake Lane Race! The event wrapped up with a Q&A hosted by Anna Harding, where Jonny and Helen shared tips and inspiring stories.

There were some fantastic prizes up for grabs, with the latest gear from New Balance, ASICS, Garmin, and Adidas.
Joining the Strava Club – Give Back While You Run
As part of the event, Go Outdoors also launched the KUDOS RUN Mile One Club on Strava. For every new member who joins, Go Outdoors donates £1 to the Brownlee Foundation – a charity founded by Jonny and his brother, Olympian Alistair Brownlee, aiming to inspire children through sports. It’s a great way to make each mile count for something bigger.
