My 2018 diary is getting full before I have even bought it. So I thought I had better make a note somewhere of what I have booked…
Liverpool Half Marathon – 25th March 2018
I’ve run this one twice before and always got a PB on this course. Let’s see if I can finally crack that sub 2 this time. I’ve 60 seconds to knock off. I’ve timed it perfectly so the training burns off all those tubs of Xmas chocolates I will no doubt consume.
This year is the 25th anniversary so it should be a little bit special. Liverpool is one of my favourite cities so I don’t take much persuasion to visit. The race fits in well with training for Manchester Marathon.
Manchester Marathon – 8th April 2018
I was waiting to see how I fared in the London Marathon ballot but got impatient and entered, plus the race is the same day as my birthday so it was a sign. After last years slow run due to ‘man flu’ I’m PB chasing again – we will see how that works out!
London Marathon – 22nd April 2018 (Ballot result pending).
Let’s be honest, I may have just increased my chances of getting a place by entering another marathon 2 weeks before. Chances are it will be my 5th ‘No’ in a row. I’m just hoping this year I get upgraded to the rejection magazine instead of the usual email.
Liverpool Rock and Roll Marathon – 20th May 2018
Have I mentioned how much I love this city? This will be my 4th year at this event. It is always a fantastic weekend and the bling is pretty special. There is also a half marathon on the same day. It’s a race I would highly recommend – especially if you like music.
Huddersfield Wineathon – 15th September 2018
Entry opened for this race this week. It is a 7.5-mile trail run with wine stations. Yes, you read that right. I have taken part in a few races that Team OA have put on and they have always been really good fun and very well organised. I still have flashbacks of following people dressed a bunches of grapes running through a field.
Let me know what races/events you’d recommend. I was fancying the Silverstone Half because the medal looked pretty good. 🙂
